What could be better than tequila and tacos? Answer: tequila, tacos and dogs!
Located in the Gunboat District, Salt & Lime Social is Tulsa’s newest pet-friendly patio restaurant. Co-owners Shelby Remy and Spencer Snow say they wanted to create a restaurant that’s a family affair.
“It’s somewhere you can walk to enjoy, eat, play some games and spend an afternoon. We know that so many people appreciate their pets like family, and at Salt & Lime, we do too!” says Remy.
The two friends had a lifelong dream to open a restaurant, which became a reality in the fall of 2021 when they joined the Kitchen 66 launch program with their restaurant Salt & Vinegar. However, they longed for a permanent establishment; the result is Salt & Lime Social.
“We combined our love for tequila, good food and our four-legged friends into something really special,” Remy says. “It was a tight fit, but we have two shipping containers. One is dedicated fully to kitchen and bar, and the other is indoor/outdoor seating. Then we have our big patio and plenty of dog bowls to keep our best friends hydrated.
Remy says although the original plan was to start another Salt & Vinegar, the concept ultimately didn’t feel right.
“One morning I woke up and just had Salt & Lime on the brain. I talked it over with Spencer, and we were determined to figure out funds and make this happen.
“Having a restaurant definitely isn’t easy, but it’s rewarding. What brings you more happiness than good food? And now we have good food, good drinks and can enjoy it with our dogs. It seemed like a win-win. We are just happy to represent the Gunboat District in Tulsa. It’s Tulsa’s first neighborhood and has seen a great rebirth in the past couple of years. We like to think of ourselves as an anchor here now for them, their families and their dogs!”
Enjoy daily happy hour specials from 2 to 6 p.m. while your pup enjoys endless water bowls on the patio. Starting June 1, dog treats will also be available.
