SOUTHERN AGRICULTURE AND DIAMOND PET FOODS CELEBRATE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP WITH MEALS ON WHEELS OF METRO TULSA’S PAWS PROGRAM

(Pets Assisting Wellness In Seniors (PAWS) is a pet food program designed to support companionship animals of MOW’s homebound recipients. In doing so, it also ensures that their recipients maintain healthy diets without sacrificing their meal to protect their pet from hunger.)

Hundreds of dogs and their owners will flock to Tulsa on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Tulsa Expo SageNet Center – LL to compete in the Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa’s annual all breed dog show from 8:00 am to 5:00 PM each day.

This year’s show will highlight the community partnerships of Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa, (MCKC), Southern Agriculture and Diamond Pet Foods with Meals On Wheels of Metro Tulsa’s PAWS program. Diamond Pet Foods ships almost 5 tons of pet food monthly at a discounted cost to Southern Agriculture’s 27th & Harvard – Tulsa store for pick up by MCKC members and other MOWs’ volunteers. The volunteers bag and deliver the pet food to MOW’s homebound clients.

Two special events will be featured at MCKC’s dog show this year to raise funds in support of the PAWS program – Show N’ Go and Sanctioned B Match. Meals On Wheels Metro of Tulsa, Southern Ag and Diamond Pet Foods will be onsite to promote this essential service provided by MOW to the Greater Tulsa community.

• 1 Pee Wee Special Attraction (Saturday) – Free for children 5-9 years of age
• 1 Best Puppy Competition (Saturday)
• 1 Best Bred-By-Exhibitor Competition (Sunday)
• Sanctioned B Match (Saturday after Best In Show) – Benefiting MOW of Metro Tulsa’s PAWS program
• Show N’ Go (Friday @ 4:30 PM) – Benefiting MOW of Metro Tulsa’s PAWS program
• 4 All-Breed Obedience Trials
• 4 All Breed Rally Trials

SPECTATORS CAN:

• Visit the Meals On Wheels of Metro Tulsa, Diamond Pet Foods and Southern Ag booths to learn more about the PAWS program and make a donation to support it.
• Meet and greet a variety of different dog breeds. Visitors can learn about responsible dog ownership and speak with breeders, owners and handlers.
• Watch the judging of various breeds in Conformation and cheer for your favorite.
• See young owner-handlers compete against their peers in the Junior Showmanship Competition.
• Watch owner-handlers compete in a special series called the National Owner-Handled Series. These exhibitors are striving for a spot in the finals at the AKC National Championship presented by Royal Canin in Orlando in December.
• Obedience and rally trials will test dogs understanding of commands, as they maneuver hurdles & retrieve articles.
• Watch canine athletes show off their extreme water skills in a Dock Diving competition. Your dog can also try dock diving for a fee.
• See puppies getting started in the sport in the AKC Sanctioned 4 and under 6 Months Puppy Competition.
• Shop vendor booths for dog treats and dog-related items plus more!
